This new residence is dramatically sited on ten acres in the foothills of the Olympic Mountains on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula and on axis with Mt. Baker in the distance. Its views are sweeping and extend NE over the town of Sequim and the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

The house has a butterfly roof form with an organizing gallery along the spine. On the main level, the public spaces are oriented to the view and include the living room, dining room kitchen, study and master bath & sleeping. On the opposite side of the gallery are the less public spaces: the office, guest bath, mud/utility room, the entry opposite the study and master dressing. In a partial basement on the downhill view side are two bedrooms and a bath. Overall, the house has a modern, NW pavilion feel with radiant concrete floors (bamboo flooring over top in some spaces) and open beam, maple clad ceilings.
