The clients were a couple with three growing children who had outgrown their small, but beautifully sited 1960s tract house. The old house was removed from the existing basement foundation and hauled away to a new site for a new family. The new house was built upon the existing foundation, with some addition to the footprint, and was structurally improved to support a new second story, as well as an attic recreation room.
This house sits in a woodland setting, high on a bluff with sweeping views of Discovery Bay and the Olympic Mountains beyond and was published in The New Family Home, Taunton Press, 2001.
